3DJ Consulting was founded in San Antonio, Texas by Derek Vasquez — an IT professional with more than 20 years of experience guiding organizations through technology change. The name itself reflects what matters most: the people behind the work.
3DJ stands for Derek, Diana, Diego, and Joaquin — the Vasquez family. What started as a commitment to serve clients the way Derek would want to be served has grown into a focused consulting practice with a track record spanning federal agencies, state governments, and regulated industries.

Derek brings more than two decades of hands-on experience in IT architecture, cloud infrastructure, and technology advisory to 3DJ Consulting. His career has spanned the full spectrum of government IT — from federal agencies and state governments to regulated utilities — with a consistent focus on cloud adoption, security, and infrastructure modernization.
His background includes direct delivery work supporting the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, the U.S. Department of Labor, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and energy sector clients in Florida. He has worked across Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, and hybrid environments, and brings expertise in data governance, cybersecurity frameworks, identity management, and IT capital planning.
Derek's approach is direct and personal: he takes ownership, communicates clearly, and delivers what he commits to. That standard is the foundation of everything 3DJ does.
